Peerless Timeline
1940's
Peerless Products, Inc. is founded in Chicago , IL to support WWII efforts. From
the beginning Peerless developed into a recognized leader in the manufacturing
of mounting accessories for audiovisual and electronic equipment.
1950's
Peerless Products, Inc. relocates to the Chicago suburb of Melrose Park, IL and
is renamed to Peerless Sales Company. TV’s emerge in the 1950’s. Peerless
begins manufacturing “Rabbit Ear” television antennas.
1960's
Introduction of the first Peerless television mount, Model 1100, for Zenith®
televisions in the hospitality market. Introduction of television carts.
1970's
Debut of yoke-style television mount. Product line addition of mounts for CCTV,
speakers and security cameras.
1980's
The company is purchased by Walter Snodell and renamed to Peerless Industries,
Inc. Peerless redirects its efforts to the development of a proprietary line of
television mounts for commercial applications. Introduction of Slimline®
Television Mounts.
1990's
Peerless expands operations into an adjacent building in Melrose Park, IL. With
this growth, Peerless triples its engineering staff and invests in new
equipment, making Peerless products second-to-none. Peerless emerges as the
industry leader and innovator in the commercial and consumer marketplace.
Introduction of the Designer Series™ and The Perfect Mount™ television mounts.
Introduction of the Jumbo® Television Mount that set the standard for the
industry. Introduction of the Projector Mounts, Jumbo 2000™ and initial plasma
screen mounts including the Plasma 2000™.
2000
Peerless Industries launches its Installation Safety Training Program. Peerless
expands their TV, Projector and Plasma mount lines. Introduction of the first
LCD Screen Mount.
2001
Peerless in-house design team is responsible for more than 10 patents.
2002
Introduction of the Vector Pro™ Projector Mount and Solid•Point™ Plasma Mounts.
Product lines are broadened to include a line of Plasma Screen Mounts and
Vision•Point Mounts for LCD’s.
2003
Peerless, still growing, expands to more than 250,000 square feet of
manufacturing space.
2004
Peerless introduces the new PRS Series Projector Mounts and the Adjustable Wall
Arm with Channeled Cord Management Mount.
2005 and beyond..
Peerless Industries, Inc. will continue to uphold our values and pioneer
solutions for commercial and residential applications by providing innovative
mounts for the latest flat panel, projector and other audiovisual and computer
technologies.
